Objective

N’KoÌ‚noÌ‚na Ko - A psycho-social support for a peaceful and inclusive community

To addressing the deep-rooted psychological trauma experienced by children in street situations and breaking the cycle of violence and poverty.

This year long project aims to equip 50 children in street situation with the necessary skills, resources, and platforms to heal from their trauma, find ways to engage in creating sustainable livelihoods for themselves and transforming them into positive peace agents. It will offer psychological sessions with experts, edutainment activities, and professional development programs.

A Two-Pronged Approach​

​

At this initial stage, the program will address emotional and subtle trauma experienced by children living on the streets of Ouagadougou. The structure will be as follows:

​

Phase 1: Trauma Identification: We will utilize engaging activities such as sports and art to establish connections with the children and identify underlying emotional and psychological trauma.

​

Phase 2: Trauma Intervention: Supported by professional psychologists, the program will provide group therapy sessions for the children, followed by individual therapy sessions as necessary.

Opportunity and Expected Results

 

  1. Provide mental health support and counseling through edutainment activities ( Art and Sport) to 50 children in street situation.

  2. Empower 50 children through vocational training and life skills development.

  3. Promote social reintegration and community engagement through awareness campaign for 1 million people

  4. Advocate for policy changes to provide holistic support to children in street situation.

You can support this initiative by 
 

  • Supply Art and Sports Materials: Provide art and sports supplies to facilitate creative expression and physical activity during the trauma identification phase of our project.

  • Donate Gently Used Clothing: Contribute gently used clothing suitable for children aged 6 to 16, ensuring that young boys and girls have access to essential apparel.

  • Support Our Fundraising Efforts: Contribute to our fundraising initiatives, which will help us cover basic necessities such as food and provide access to professional psychological support for the children.
